Volunteer Opportunities With WDCTA
Member-at-Large (MAL) - (2 positions)
Here’s a way to get involved to help encourage the interest, organizing and awareness of educational and social opportunities within WDCTA! We need two individuals to represent their areas to encourage the organization of clinics, special events and fun gatherings to further the interest in dressage (both traditional and Western), sport horse breeding and eventing. This position means being a liaison between the needs of riders and enthusiasts in your area and the WDCTA board in order to help organize and secure financial help for activities from WDCTA or guidance to apply for grants from The Dressage Foundation.
We especially need representation from the north central and northwestern Wisconsin areas. If you feel like you’re “alone” in your areas, that’s an even better reason to volunteer—you can help get things rolling! Plus, you’re not really alone because there are board members and many members who can help guide you and your area in organizing activities.
Your MAL volunteer activities include, but are not limited to:
- Attend the Board of Directors’ meetings held approximately three to four times a year, (usually by teleconference, so very little travel to these meetings is required,
- Represent your members’ needs in your area and on the board,
- Serve as a chair of committees, as needed
Virtual Show Coordinator (1 position)
Want to help WDCTA, get more involved and meet more horse enthusiasts? We’re looking for someone to take over the Virtual Shows we offer. It doesn’t require too much time and includes the following:
- Update the existing form for each show (even improve its design, if you want)
- Send the submitted YouTube videos to the judge
- Share the test results with the riders and send them their ribbons
- Share with the WDCTA board how each show went (at Zoom meeting or via email summary)
