How Can I Volunteer with WDCTA?
Volunteers are a vital part of WDCTA! There are many ways to contribute:
- Volunteer within a Chapter as an elected officer
- Volunteer on the State Board (for instance as a Member at Large, or Committee member)
- Volunteer at a Chapter or State event, such as a clinic, symposia, horse show, mini event, etc.
- Recruit new members
- Education outreach - Present a topic to the membership
- Write an article for our newsletter
- Sell advertising in our newsletter and website
- Donate your facility for a WDCTA event
- Bring food or refreshments to an event
Horse show managers and clinic organizers need numerous volunteers in order to make the event happen! Most show managers are eager for new volunteers. Just contact the show's manager for any show and they'll be able to point you in the right direction. Examples for horse shows include ring stewards and runners, scorers, scribes, hospitality, awards, parking, and more.
Clinic organizers often need volunteers to help direct riders and auditors, hospitality, set up and tear down, etc. Contact the clinic organizer.
With any event you volunteer for, be sure to sign up to volunteer ahead of time instead of just turning up on the day. This way, volunteer coordinators know how to schedule all the volunteers.
