What is WDEA?
The Wisconsin Dressage & Eventing Association is a 501(c)3 Wisconsin non-profit organization run by dedicated volunteers. Through their efforts, our organization offers many services to eventing and dressage enthusiasts throughout the State of Wisconsin and Upper Peninsula of Michigan. WDEA is proudly recognized as a Charter Member of the United States Dressage Federation (USDF).

The Wisconsin Dressage & Eventing Association (WDEA) began as a charter member of our national federation, the U.S. Dressage Federation (USDF), founded in 1973. At that time, our organization—known as a USDF Group Member Organization (GMO)—operated under the name, Wisconsin Dressage Association (WDA). We became the Wisconsin Dressage & Combined Training Association (WDCTA) in 1986 to incorporate eventing, which at the time was referred to as combined training. In 2025, the WDCTA board and a vote by membership determined our organization should change its name to the Wisconsin Dressage and Eventing Association to better reflect the eventing discipline (which changed its name from combined training to eventing in December 2001).
